New Survey & Review Panel - That Said

New panels are popping up all over for the new year. First, Scripps Network ( HGTV, etc ) has rolled out their new site, Under One Roof ( join here ) and now That Said has opened its registration.

That Said is in it's Beta phase. This means it is just beginning and being tested. This is often a great time to get in with companies as you will be with them from the start.

I struggled with how to categorize this new site. Survey site? Research? But, I am going to place it under the survey category for now.

Currently, when you register you also get to answer some questions about movies and be entered to win Netflix for a year.

Then, once you are registered, you can refer friends, take surveys ( once they become available ), post reviews for products, take polls. It kind of reminds me of a mix of Smile.ly and Toluna.

For right now, you earn badges and virtual goods on their site for the activities you perform. These will eventually be exchangeable for actual goods ( yay! ). So, earn what you can so once they get the exchange program piece up and running, you will be ready.

Pinecone Research Registration Live

Whenever I see open registration for Pinecone Research, I always make sure to let everyone know.

So, I happened to see it today as part of a list of survey sites via Ready Site ( if you are new to Ready Site and are a blogger, you get a $25 sign on bonus ). For all I know, it may have been there all month and I just missed it. If it was, I apologize.

Pinecone Research is a survey site that opens up registration periodically throughout the year, so if you don't get in while it is open you just have to wait.

They pay $3 per survey ( which is a pretty good rate for most surveys ) and pay quickly. It seems to be a favorite among the survey taking community.

Introducing Saving Bits and Pieces

I hope you noticed this image in my left sidebar, because I put it there at the beginning of the month to highlight a January Blog!

I hope to do this every month, so if you are a blogger or know of a good blog you read, let me know. I would prefer to find some that are different subjects ( books, recipes, dieting, family, movies, schooling, etc, etc ) that I don't normally cover.

This month, I wanted to highlight a new blog on the block, Saving Bits and Pieces!

Becky, the author, is a friend of mine from church ( yes, she used to watch Ella and I used to babysit her little boy in the nursery). $20 Free to Bidvertiser

As a blogger, I just love when I get free money for advertising from different companies. Just last week, I got a $100 code in the mail for Google, so I will be able to run a text advertisement for Money Saving Methods. Yay!

Then, this week I also got $20 free from Bidvertiser that all my fellow bloggers and website owners can take advantage of right now, too.

Bidvertiser - $20 Free

This runs the same way Google Adwords does, it is a very similar program. You can choose from a text advertisement or a image based ad. I chose the text advertisement, because it was quicker and easier to set up. And, I didn't have the size dimensions they required for an image ad created for my blog.

So, here are the details:

• Click here to register for free with Bidvertiser and get $20 free with sign up
• Create your account.
  
• If it does not give you the option for text ads at first, log out and back in. Your $20 will still be there.
• Create your text ad ( take moments )
• Enter your daily max spent. I entered $20. They will shut your ad off for the day once it reaches $20.
  
• You will need to enter your credit card info in case you forget to pause your campaign the next day and it runs again.
• Mark your calendar for to log in and pause your campaign. Nothing will then be charged to your credit card. But, you must remember to do it before you reach the $20 threshold, or they will charge you for the whole week ( whatever cost you set that up for when registering your ad ).
  

And, you are done! You will have $20 free in advertising.

You can direct your ad to go to a specific page for your site, if you so desire, or to your website overall. I set mine up to go specifically to my Survey webpage. I targeted the advertisement for those interested in Surveys. I cover so many topics on my site, I felt a small text ad might be the wrong place to incorporate all the topics I talk about.

With my Google Ad, I think I may gear it towards my Mystery Shopping page. But, you can spend the $20 anyway you think will benefit your site.

BidVertiser Publisher Program

In addition, Bidvertiser also has a publisher ( affiliate style ) program set up similarly to Google Adsense. I have been reading up and there are some nice benefits. You can set it up just like your google ads ( I would alter between the two to see which perform better OR set up on a separate web page. I would not put both on the same page ). I am going to put my BidVertiser ads on my specific web pages to try it out.

• The advantages, especially to those not earning the minimum payout of $100 per month with Google Adsense, is that Bidvertiser pays out at $10!! That is a very easy threshold to meet.
  
• You can choose to have the users clicks opened in another window, thus keeping readers on your site.
  
• You can manually approve which ads will display on your site.
• You can choose to display eBay auction ads
• They have a Refer a Friend program. This helps earn extra money, as we all know.

Scripps Networks New Panel - Under One Roof

I am always happy when I find a new survey panel. Especially when it is from specific companies that I am familiar with already.

Right now, Scripps Networks ( including HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, and more ) is launching it's survey panel, Under One Roof and will be geared towards panel members interested in food and home topics.

Currently, they will send you email invites and you will be allowed to participate in up to 4 surveys or forum discussions a month. When I logged into my account and viewed my report, it does have a column for survey dollars. In addition, they are also saying you will be among the first to see new products, shows and personalities. So, that will be fun.

On top of the 4 you are invited to, they will also have open forums that you will be free to participate in if you so desire.

Daily Deals in your Area - Cheap Birthday Party Anyone?

I signed up with this company awhile ago to see if it was worth blogging about and I decided today that it was. I will admit, I have not ordered through them yet. So, if anyone has experience with them, please share!

This is not to say that every deal on here will be one geared for you, but you never know. One of the daily deals might be worth your while.

The company is Adility and when you register you then have the opportunity to get in on a daily deal. If at least 5 people order the deal, it then becomes active and you will receive the price they quote. If 5 people do not buy into it, you won't receive that price.

There are also a set amount of deals a day. So, even if it goes active, there may only be 100 available. So, once the deal is gone, it is gone.

Today, I logged in and checked Cincinnati's deal. It is $29.99 for 16 FREE movie tickets ( well, I guess they aren't free since I would be paying $29.99, but you get the gist ), 8 Buy One get One Tickets, and 4 Free Medium Popcorns to Danbarry Movie Theatres in my area.

If you don't have a Danbarry by you, they are a lower priced theatre that show movies after they have hit the main theatres and before they go to rental. Tickets in my area go for $3 most days. $1.75 on Tuesdays.

I am trying to plan a birthday party for my youngest son, and I saw this deal. I cannot do it for him ( he is too young at 3 for the movies being shown ), but how I wished my 7 year old son was having his birthday. The cinema is showing Where the Wild Things Are, and it would have been perfect for a party.

For $29.99, I could have let him invite a group of boys for his birthday. I would have invited another mom or two ( to help me drive the mini van carpool ) and we could have loaded the kids up. My idea? Have the boys dropped off at my home, head to the theater, watch the movie, and then drive home for cake/ice cream/gifts.

I did this last year for my daughter, but only took a couple kids because the tickets for UP were quite pricey, even for the afternoon showing.

Anyway, you get the idea on the types of deals they have. I took a look around at other cities and they had everything from car washes, paint ball, movies, massages and more.

Help Haiti w/ Resoltuion Research

It has been a tough week to watch the news. I find myself glued to the screen through my son's nap time watching the heartbreak in Haiti ( when I should be either cleaning or blogging ). And, I know most of us have helped out in any way we can. Remember, EVERY little thing helps. A little bit from a lot of people adds up!

When Neighbors in Foreclosure Benefit you

Hmmm..not sure I like the title of this post.

Because, frankly, I would rather my neighbors NOT be in foreclosure and have vacant homes on my street.

Currently, a few doors up, we have two empty homes. It is very frustrating, although I must admit that winter is better than summer. At least the grass isn't going to be overgrown. Before that, a few years ago, a 3rd home on our street was also in foreclosure.

If you have been in a neighborhood with empty homes before, you know it takes the bank FOREVER to get the homes on the market and sold. They literally sit there for months and months and months.

How is this helping my property value?

Regardless, today I decided to finally take advantage of the empty homes. Since no one is living there, the papers have been piling up in both driveways. One of them had 6, and the other had 4.

Everyday when I drove onto my street, I had to pass these piles of papers in the driveway. Today, I was pulling my paper in and saw the coupon inserts and thought...wait a minute! Why didn't I think of this before.

So, I walked up there, and brought all the papers home. I pulled all the coupon inserts and am recycling all the paper ( taking it to my sons school, which then earns them money ).

So, it is a win-win. Coupon savings for me and earnings for the local elementary school!

Don't get me wrong, I would rather the neighbors had not foreclosed. But, I can't change that. And, if no one is going to pick those papers up ( which they obviously are not after all this time ) then I am going to utilize them.

I will note: these are not subscription papers, but the free inserts and papers they throw into all the driveways in my area. :)

Johnson & Johnson Friends and Neighbors Program

I must admit. I am a bit excited to share this program. It means I get to potentially try new and current products from Johnson & Johnson ( and believe me, they own MANY product lines...not just baby products ).

Since they view us as potential and/or current consumers of their products, they conduct studies of their products and value our feedback.

Free Screening Tickets to Shutter Island

A free night out at the movies is one of my favorite things to do! In December, I got to take the whole family to the cinema to see the new Disney movie, Princess and the Frog. And, we paid nothing. A local friend and real estate agent, provided us tickets! They were hosting the event for clients and referrers to their company.

And, it got me hooked. I want to go to the movies for FREE all the time! So, as you may have noticed, I have started sharing free movie screenings whenever I find them.

Today, I wanted to share screenings for the new movie, Shutter Island, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by Martin Scorsese. To read about the movie and see a preview, click here.
