My son's 7th Birthday was Sunday. I can hardly believe my eldest is THAT old already! Time sure does fly by!

I hit it big at Kohl's today! I was so pleased! Look at all the fun merchandise I got!

I originally headed to the store STRICTLY to use my $10 off $10 coupon they sent me. I figured, hey, why not get something for free or almost free!

Want to be on Kohl's "coupon" list? For online sale alerts, etc, click here. In addition, they will send you a $5 off $5 or more coupon for in store purchases. Yay!

Interested in getting many additional coupons good in the store? Seriously consider applying for the Kohl's credit card here. You will get many additional coupons than the average shopper. Remember, it is a credit card and should be paid off in full each month. In addition, it will affect your credit score. I don't use my card often, but I am glad I have it. I am thankful for the extra savings I get as a cardholder.

If you get the opportunity tomorrow, consider stopping by your local store. I found the women's winter clothes marked down to 80 to 90% off. I was able to get jeans for $5!

In addition, I was getting tops for as low as $3.60. It was amazing!

I stocked up on Christmas gifts for the ladies ( Yay! ) in my family and also Christmas shopped for myself, too. Yes, I know. It is not as exciting. But, I would rather pick out items I like at an extreme discount. This saves my family a lot of money, and saves my anti-shopping husband from miserably going out to shop during the Holiday rush.

So, I got winter clothes for myself that I will force him to wrap ( hey, I have to make him do something, right? ) and he and the kids can give them to me this winter during Christmas. And, I can't wait to be surprised. I love my new clothes! :-)

In addition, thru tomorrow Kohl's has the spend $50 get $10 in Kohl's dollars. The Kohl's dollars can be used just like cash at Kohl's. So, if you buy something for $10, it will be free. This sale runs thru tomorrow, so if you want to try and buy off the clearance racks try to go and get in on this additional incentive, too.

How did I do? I spent $102. The total VALUE of my merchandise was $820. I saved $717.55 and got $20 in Kohl's cash!!!

In addition, Kohl's is offering clearance online, too, up to 80%. I checked it out when I got home and they didn't have near as much on clearance as the in store racks, but it might be something to check out.

Auto Renewal Benefit - Entertainment Book!

Do you remember when we all got our free Entertainment Book for 2009? Click here to read the original post.

That was the 2nd year in a row I got my book free, and it definitely has paid off. In fact, on our vacation to Mackinac Island last week, we saved immensely thanks to our book. We stayed at the Mission Point Resort. Through their site, the cheapest I could find was $125 a night under their last minute "specials". Yes, we booked the day before we left.

Next, I searched all the sites and Expedia was the cheapest at $105! But, when I went thru Entertainment, we were able to get it for $89 a night! That adds up over multiple nights. In fact, it ended up being cheaper than staying in Mackinac City. And, we would much rather stay on the island!

So, needless to say, we love our Entertainment Book.

But, if you remember, when we signed up we got an extra $5 off if we signed up for auto renewal. Well, it is now time to cancel that if you aren't interested in paying for the book next year. You can go here to cancel the auto renewal. You should receive a letter in the mail soon as well, reminding you that you can keep or cancel the 2010 book. My customer number was included in my letter.

Why am I writing this post?

Well, because even if you are planning to keep your auto renewal, please go to that site and start the cancellation process.

Why?

Well, before they let you cancel, they offer you a 2nd Dining card to stay on the auto renewal program. And, if you enjoy the dining program thru their book, then why not get a 2nd card for FREE!

Meanwhile, if you do cancel, they do say they will charge the $5 back. So, we will see. Others have said the charge never came through, but even if it does...it is just charging the $5 savings I got last year back. :-)

Vacation Time is Over!

Well, if you haven't noticed, there has been a lack of posts this week.

My family and I ( and my parents ) headed to vacation at Mackinac Island! We were gone for the week, and I scheduled a few posts. But, I had taken my laptop planning on updating my blog while I was up there and when we arrived, I realized I forgot my plug for my computer. Ugh!

So, I haven't been on my site, email or in anyway reachable this week. I apologize!

But, it was well worth it! The time with my family was priceless, and if you ever get a chance to visit Mackinac...take it! I absolutely loved the island. Not only was it unbelievably peaceful, it was like stepping back in time. Only horse and buggies and bicycles are allowed on the island. All the building are historic and even our rooms had NO air conditioning!

Yes, it is true. NO AIR CONDITIONING! But, don't worry. You don't really need it. At night, it was actually chilly in our room getting down into the 60s and in the daytime, the high was in the 70s. Well, except for the day the heat wave went thru the U.S. But, even that day wasn't too bad!And, to top it off, the flowers were gorgeous! Their seasons are so far behind ours up there that all the lilac bushes were in bloom. And, the whole island was covered. The smell was wonderful, well, until a horse was nearby! :-)

Anyway, just thought I would share a bunch of the pics from our adventure. And, I will be back to my regular routine of posting now that I am safely back in good ol' Ohio!

Fresh Funds is Fun!

We all know I love loyalty programs. Not only do they send coupons for their products out, but they often send freebies or give you points you can redeem for gifts.

And, that is why I am began using Fresh Funds.

I have been seeing it mentioned in the newspaper on Sunday and I finally logged in and set up my account.

The program actually puts me in mind of the Stouffer's program I talked about here.

You redeem points when you buy products from Tyson, Fresh Express and Chiquita. A few weeks ago when Bigg's was having their triple coupons, I bought too very large bags of Fresh Express salad for free after coupon, and earned many points for each bag.

As you accumulate points, you can log into your account and bid on gifts. It is similar to an auction in that you take your points and bid. If you lose when the bidding is over, your points will be put back into your account and you can bid on another gift.

In addition, the gifts change weekly so log back in often to bid. You can only win one auction a month.
