Week In Review - Jan & Feb YTD

Here you will find a re-cap of what happened in my household over the past week and the monetary impact to us. To catch myself up, I am doing a February run down this week. If you scroll down, you will also see a January update included. Since I am just now getting this weekly post up and running again, I wanted to catch up for the year.

I am also breaking out blogging earnings. This way those who are also bloggers or plan to start can see which companies I have had some success with during the year.

Follow along with me and watch your earnings and savings grow, too!

Remember, don't forget to track your own numbers, as it is fun and beneficial to know what is working for you!

Listed below is the total I saved or earned, the post that explains the details ( if there is one ) and then the method where I am adding this total for tallying purposes.

Thanks for sharing! This is one of my favorite posts that you do! I've been missing them.

I miss them, too.

They just take SOO much time to put together and link up, that I have gotten lazy.

I am really going to try and keep it up, though.

And, don't feel bad about leaving me comments telling me to get it posted if I miss a week. Sometimes I just need a little nudge to get me to do it! :)

Carrie,
Thank you so much for the work you put into this site and your generosity in sharing this information.
Almost all other couponing bloggers encourage us readers to join sites so we can be their referrals without letting us know they are profitting.
You are so generous in sharing the real scoop. Like they say "the more you give, the more you get back". Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Awesome!
You set a high standard. The best thing about this is I can show my husband that eventually, possibly, this "blogging" thing will create positive cash flow for our family.
God bless and keep it up!

I first want to say how much I love your site! You are the one that got me into mystery shopping and have also shown me some great sites to make money!

I have a blog located at http://www.myfavedeals.com and I am blown away by how much you have made by advertisements on your blog and referrals! NICE JOB!

Thank you for the nice comments.

As always ( and as I am sure many of you to know ) it is always so hard to share personal financial information. Whether it is good or bad, it is just always so private ( as it should be in most cases )

But, I truly feel for my blog to be beneficial for others to earn and save from home, they need to know what is working and not working for me so they can learn, too.

Since my site was started two years ago, my desire was always to help others like me ( not just stay at home moms..but anyone wanting to make and save extra from the comfort of home ) and I really think being truthful is the way to help...plus motivate others.

And for those who are working on blogs ( and believe me, much much more can be made by blogging if you even put more time and effort into it than I have ), I hope you can see how exciting and financially beneficial blogging can be, too.

Thank you again for the nice comments. This is always one of the harder posts to do weekly ( and one of the reasons why I often shy away from it for months ), but it is so worthwhile when I know it is appreciated by others

Carrie, I love your blog. I see a lot of the ad revenue sites require a SSN. I don't like to give that out. Have you had any trouble with any of them? I know why they want it, but I guard that number carefully!

Thanks.

Sarah,

Part of the living in the U.S., unfortunately, is we have to pay taxes on our earnings.

From Mystery Shopping to Online Offers to Ad Revenue Sites, they are mandated my law to turn in a 1099-MISC form at the end of the year for any earnings over $600.

And, since they have no way of knowing ahead of time how much you will make, you are required to provide that information.

When providing the information, if you are leery of entering it online, contact them and tell them you would rather send in a w-9 form via mail, fax or whatever method you feel comfortable.

Also, if an url starts with https ( make sure it has the s on the end ) they are running a secure site. I never enter my information if the s isn't there, and will instead mail them my forms.

Even Ebates contacted me this year to turn in my SS# ( as shopping site ) since they needed to turn my info into the government.

Hope that info helps!
