While on the subject of High Gas Prices.........

Since I just posted on the Drive America Gas Rebates, I thought it would be fun to focus on gas prices for a quick post.

First, a big THANK YOU to Erin! She works for AOL & Shortcuts, and recently contacted me about their program. Her and I got emailing, and she told me about another great program AOL offers. It is called http://www.gasprices.mapquest.com/. You type in your zip code, and it will tell you the gas prices in your area.

And, it will even tell you the lowest prices in the US right now. So, if you live in Sumter, SC, you are at $2.96. I wonder if it would be worth it for me to drive down there from Ohio for that price!

I have heard there are other great sites like this, too...are there any you use? Leave a comment.

And, although I joked above about driving to SC, I wouldn't recommend driving out of your way to hit a station for a couple pennies a gallon. But if you pass quite a few on your way somewhere, you can use this to see which station is the lowest and fill up at that one!

Also, I went and picked up my All You magazine at Wal Mart today. I went through 2 stacks of magazines before I found one with the $10 survey envelope. Woo, hoo! Profit for me. Plus, a magazine full of coupons!

Anyway, there is a great article in there titled, Save Money on Gas. It is on page 155. I highly recommend reading it. And, what were one of their main suggestions? Yep...use those credit cards with rebates for gas! Now, haven't I been saying that all along! With prices this high, my 6% rebate is getting pretty large each month. ( although, I would prefer gas prices be lower and my rebate from the credit card be lower, too ). Not much I can do about that, though, so I will take my free money from the credit card companies! Click here to read my post on the benefits of using those credit cards and which ones I highly recommend.

Finally, before I go...you must go visit Kyle at Rather-Be-Shopping. His latest post on Gas prices, once again, had be rolling. My favorite was number 7. Not sure why, but just typing about it has me laughing again! And, make sure you take a good look at the picture. I didn't notice it at first, but it is quite hilarious, too!

At least he has a sense of humor about the gas situation!

I use gasbuddy.com it's very up to date and I can usually find gas about 20 cents cheaper by checking there first!!
