Commission Junction - Another great Affiliate Program

If you read my original post about CPA Storm, you know I truly enjoy the affiliate programs offered out there for bloggers. And, since I am new to this whole world of blogging and affiliates, I was pleasantly surprised to find two great companies right off the bat.

First, was CPA Storm, which I wrote about earlier. You can click here to read that post. The second company I am going to talk about is Commission Junction. I was so excited to get my first check from this week for $35.84. Not a huge amount, but for my first go round with them, I was satisfied. And, I am already expecting a check next month for $63.50, and the pay period isn't even over yet.

Now, Commission Junction is probably much wider known. It isn't hard to apply for their program, but like most of the other affiliate programs, you do have to individually apply for each company.

What are some companies I use from them? Upromise, for one. They are offering the $10 free with sign up & 1st purchase this month on their ad. You can read here on how last month I got a free cordless phone thanks to this great deal from Upromise. It is a great time to shop on site and see what you can get with your free $10!

I was very happy to find they had 21st century ( AIG ) insurance, which is a company I use, also. I had actually written my 21st century article way before I was an affiliate for Commission Junction, then I applied and got denied. But, still stood by promoting the company...I had saved so much money!

So, how did I finally become an affiliate thru Commission Junction for 21st Century? I requested to be an affiliate directly to the company.

This is a quick lesson on Commission Junction. Many times, you are automatically declined. But, do not let it discourage you. If it is a company I truly believe in promoting, I will manually request ( thru CJ's email request directly to the company ) that they relook at my site and approve me.

In about 2/3 of the cases, they then manually approve me. So, remember this...always request the company directly when you get declined! Don't give up!

Anyway, they have a huge list of advertisers to pick from and it is fun to see how many of the companies you may have talked about on your blog already, and did not even know you could actually get paid!

And, if you think you don't have the right type of blog for advertisements, think again! I had a reader, Chris, email me asking how to get a link for Upromise. They had a site for the daughter, and were trying to encourage family and friends to sign up for the program.

So, I explained how to do it, and I was told it worked perfectly. So, I have to assume they now have the Upromise link on the daughter's site and if family and friends ever click on it, they can sign up to save for the daughter PLUS they will get some money for referring them!

I hope that gives you a little insight into this affiliate company. And, I am always looking for new ones, so if you know of any great companies you stand behind, let us know!

This was a very helpful post. Just signed up for CJ and the one affiliate I wanted to promote auto-denied me. After I fix my site up a bit I'm going to manually apply. Thank you.

I am just starting out my business and want to get started and earn money but have been declined by 4 affiliate programs through CJ so far that I am really interested in and it’s really frustrating!!

I must say that this post sure was helpfull. It's been 3 months and i've only 7 approved advertisers and 55 advertisers have declined me (yahoo included, which I want to join so much). I think now I do have a live proof that if I contact them directly, then they might be able to approve me. 'finger's crossed' :)
