Free Cordless Phone & Discounted Gift Cards!

Need a new cordless phone? I do. So, when I saw this free after rebate post on Hooray for Free-bates, I was ecstatic. If you want to know how bad it is, I have been talking on my home phone, attached to the wall with a cord for about a year now. Yes, it is true, they do still exist!

I just couldn't bring myself to buy a new one when mine stopped working. So, this is perfect!

First, if you read her post you will notice that the price is no longer free after rebate. It is now $5.99 plus shipping and handling. This is still a good price, but I knew I could do better.

So, here is the deal. Upromise is running a special into April. Yes, Upromise again! But, the company keeps sending me all these great specials, so I just have to pass the info on to you.

Right now, if you open a new ( free ) customer account with Upromise and make a purchase, they will give you $10 in your account. You must click on the picture above to get this deal. I know..many of you think you can't access this money and it must stay in there for kid's college. But, you can withdraw it. They simply suggest you invest it for college once you receive it. And, this works better for me. I would rather have my money out of the Upromise account and earning interest in an actual account I have set up to save for my kids education.

In addition, when you sign up, enter 5tylenol in the promo code spot, and Tylenol will invest $5 in your Upromise account. I got my $5 pretty quickly. Although I cannot promise it will work along side the free $10 from Upromise, I have a feeling it probably will. It is worth a try anyway.

So, now for the purchase. This is where the free phone comes into play. You need to go shop online through Circuit City. Once there, they are running a 10% off special right now thru their link. Click on that, put the phone in your basket ( make sure you see the $15 rebate form link ) and the phone should be discounted by 10%. This should bring the price to $18.89. With shipping, my total came to $23.78.

Upromise then gives you 3% back, so that brings my total down to $23.21. Then, I take off the $15 rebate. Total is now $8.21. Figure in the $10 from Upromise, and I just made $1.79 on a new cordless phone. If I get the free $5 for Tylenol...I actually made $6.79!!!!

If you don't need it, save it for a gift, give it to charity or sell it on eBay.

Since I already have all my Upromise accounts set up for my family, I had my Dad set up and account (finally convinced him of the wisdom ) and linked it to my son's savings. So, I am getting the phone plus making some extra money!!

IF the phone is not the route for you, but you still want to take advantage of the free $10 from Upromise, then check out all the gift cards they have for sale. If you see a store, restaurant or anything you normally spend money on, I would HIGHLY suggest you get a $25 gift card ( this is the minimum you must purchase to qualify for the free $10 ). You would get a $25 gift card, but make $10. If you also get the $5 for tylenol, you are potentially getting a $25 gift card for $10!! Great savings!
