$50 Free Chase Savings Bonus for Chase Checking Customers

Here is another great bank offer that came in the mail for me today!!

If you signed up with any of the $200 Bank Codes I have had in the past for Chase Bank, or if you have taken advantage of the online Chase offers and have a checking account...you may find this same deal arriving in your mailbox soon, too. Click here to read my original post.

Remember...check every piece of mail.....even if it looks like junk!

For current Chase Checking account members, they will give you $50 total in bonuses if you open a Chase Savings account. You must receive the coupon codes in the mail.

Here are the details:

  • $25 Bonus upon Opening with $500 minimum opening balance
  • This money CANNOT come from your Chase Checking account
  • Credit within 10 days of opening
  • $25 More when you set up automatic monthly transfers of $100 or more
  • Transfers must continue for 6 months

I signed up for mine!

My plan?

I put $500 in via credit card ( as that was an option ) and will, of course, pay the balance off in full at the end of the month. But, I figured I should earn my 1% for purchases against the Chase Freedom ( SM ) Credit Card. That is $5!

Then, after my bonus hits in 10 days, I will move $200 of it back to my High Interest Checking, since the Chase Savings only maintains you need to keep $300 in there to NOT be charged a monthly fee to your savings account. I will be calling the bank to verify this piece ( you may want to, too ). I will update if I hear anything different.

Then, I set up automatic transfer from my High Interest Savings for $100 a month to my Chase Checking, since I don't keep much money in there. Then, for a week later, I set a $100 transfer from the Chase Checking to the Chase Savings.

I will let all these automatic transfers run for 6 months in order to get the rest of the bonus.

The only other thing? I will be withdrawing that $100 each month and moving it right back to my High Interest Account.

Egads! Sounds like a lot of work for $50, right?

Really, it takes about 30 minutes to log into each of my bank accounts, set up the automatic transfers and open the new account. Then, it all runs smoothly on it's own ( of course, always check your bank statements to make sure ) until I go to close the account. So, it is actually a decent pay for my time and $300 that will sit there for 6 months.

So, if you are currently a Chase Checking Account member, check your mail. Or, you may even try giving them a call to see if you could get a coupon code for the $50 Chase Savings Account, too.

I refuse to open an account that charges me anything or requires ANYTHING. Unbelievable.
