Online Offers - $1,600 in new Nuitech Offers

Check out all these Nuitech offers! And, is it just me, or have the amount of offers needed decreased? For $500 with Nuitech, it is now the same amount of offers as IDeal on some of these. 2 on the first page, 2 on the second and 4 on the last page. With the new 30 day requirements, it is becoming a much better deal to do Nuitech now!

Anyway, welcome to my weekly post for all of you Online Offer enthusiasts out there.

Here you will see a list of which new offers are available, so you can find out what is currently new and fresh in the world of online offers.

All of these offers will also be on my Online Offers page, along with any other online offers available. seems like with nuitech you have to send a good amount of money to get the gift card compared to ideal.

Nuitech and Netblue are both more expensive they IDeal, but you have less risk of getting DQ'd. They don't have the duplicate offers restriction.

With Nuitech, they have decreased their limit of 60 days remaining as a member to 30, which is making them cheaper now and also reducing the amount of offers on these...also nice.

Usually, when I do Nuitech, I stick to the high dollar ones....$1,000 to $2,000 ones, because then your profit is higher.

does it say on the actual offer how long you have to be a member for ??

if i realized (dumb me) that i did offers (gold ) for same parent company should i just do 2 more gold offers then waiting to get Dq'd and waiting even more??

trying to find the instructions on netblu for 1k gas card if you have to stay a member more then 30 days for this one.. also i see that i would have to fill out w-9 for 1k prize.. Do i have to pay taxes on it as well? thanks

You can go to my Online Offers web page. Then, in the right side bar, you will see a button for Netblue. The instructions for that company will be there.

Usually, Netblue is different for each offer you do within the website. A little pop up window will appear for each one you click on and tell you what you must do to get credit.

Yes, taxes on all of them. Even the $500 IDeal gift cards, you must sent in a w-9. This is recorded as Misc Income, as you are making money.

So, yep....must pay taxes!

Carrie - found your blog through Nicole's Nickels and love your advice!

I recently started a $500 I-Deal offer and was approved on everything but one Gold. As I was sifting through the remaining offers, I realized that most of them were from the same parent companies that I had already done offers with this round, and the remainder had terrible BBB ratings (D's and F's).

What would you recommend? I'm nervous to go with a company so badly rated, but being this close to completion I obviously will bite the bullet.

Thoughts anyone?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Hi Claire

So glad you found my site and glad Nicole linked you over!

For me personally, I don't look at the ratings too much.

Number one, if you look at IDeal in general, they are rated terrible! And, most people who file complaints don't read the terms/conditions and then get upset over something stated when they signed up.

That is not to say that some of these companies don't sometimes perform badly towards their customers..us!

But, if you use a credit card, you are protected. If they try to charge you for something that is not valid and you can't get in touch with them and get it worked out, you can file a dispute with your CC and they will work it out.

This is why I recommend never using a debit card! The safety of the credit card really allows us to have a measure of reassurance when doing these offers.

Hope that helps.

is it worth getting these cards if you have to pay taxes on it? Im all about doing these but now a bit leary of it

Anytime you make money, you should be paying taxes.

This is true of Mystery Shopping, Surveys, Online Offers, eBay, etc, etc.

It basically comes down to earning money.

I guess I don't quite understand the question? Are you saying you are receiving welfare, etc and earning money will bump you out of the program?

If that is the case, then you probably wouldn't make enough.

If you just mean in general, taxes don't take 100%, so you will make a profit, just like you would at a job. :)

Don't forget, you can deduct your expenses to receive your income!! At least, that is what the IRS tells me every year when I call, so I deduct the cost of the offers to get the money.

Anonymous said...

No no no im not collecting or anything like that.. I just feel the gov't takes enough from us as it is.. I wont get politcal here.. So the money that I get from these cards I can just write off as an expense? as far as gift card trials what would be the expenses? sorry to ask so many questions maybe it would be a good idea to put something on your blog about it.. :)

I love your blog btw - i tell everyone to ck you out!

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

:) Don't have to tell me! LOL!

But, alas, part of the American life...taxes!

It has been discussed previously on the blog, but you are right..I should maybe put a tab on all the pages regarding taxes, or a quick statement.

I am not a tax expert, so I don't want to go into a lot of details, but I could advise readers to go to their tax consultants to ask questions before they begin.

But, what has happened to me in the past, is, for example...if I get a $500 gift card, I have to report that $500 as Misc. Income.

But, if I then spent $80 to get that $500 ( basically my profit was only $420 ), I can then take that $80 off as expenses.

So, you don't pay taxes on money you made, but used to pay for the offers to get the prize. Does that make sense?

So, for example, in a given year, if I make $5,000 off of these offers, but spend $500 to get that $5,000, I will be paying taxes on the $4,500 ( or at least, that is how it was explained to me ).

I call each year AGAIN to check it out with the IRS.

Thanks so much for explaining that a tab would be great but this is your blog and you do a great job at it :)

boo to taxes!

Anonymous said...

hey just jumping in on this conversation and from what I was told and I asked around you only get taxed on anything over 600.00 bucks.. so the 500.00 ones should be ok

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

That is a big misconception!!!

Anytime you earn money, you owe taxes.

The companies don't have to turn in 1099s unless you earn over $600, but you still owe the money!

The problem is....if you do more than one offer, IDeal and other companies will turn it into the government.

If you notice, at the end of the offers you turn in a w-9 into them. If you do two of their offers, even though separate, you have made $1,000. They then MUST turn your information into the IRS.

Be prepared, unless you only do one offer at $500 or less, your documenation will be sent to the IRs.

And, if you decide not to report it, that is up to each individual and what they feel comfortable doing in regards to taxes.

But, by law, that money is taxable income, even if under $600.

Anonymous said...

Then why is that you dont have to pay taxes on lottery winnings then.. I know you have to pay on anything over 600.00 you have to go to the lottery office to claim your prize other then that that money is your free and clear. So it doesnt make sense or is it just me?

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

You do have to pay taxes on winnings of the lottery less than $600. It is like any other company, they only have to do the paperwork if it is over $600.

Here is the information directly from the IRS site.

IRS Summertime Tax Tip 2009-14

You may know when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em but do you know how and when to report ‘em? Whether you are playing cards or the slots, it is important to know the rules about reporting gambling winnings and losses.

Here are seven things the IRS wants you to know about reporting what Lady Luck has sent your way.

1.
All gambling winnings are fully taxable.
2.
Gambling income includes, but is not limited to, winnings from lotteries, raffles, horse races, poker tournaments and casinos. It includes cash winnings and also the fair market value of prizes such as cars and trips.
3.
A payer is required to issue you a Form W-2G if you receive certain gambling winnings or if you have any gambling winnings subject to federal income tax withholding.
4.
Even if a W-2G is not issued, all gambling winnings must be reported as taxable income. Therefore, you may be required to pay an estimated tax on the gambling winnings. For more information on paying estimated taxes, refer to IRS Publication 505, Tax Withholding and Estimated Tax.
5.
You must report your gambling winnings on Form 1040, line 21.
6.
If you itemize your deductions on Form 1040, Schedule A, you can deduct gambling losses you had during the year, but only up to the amount of your winnings. Your losses are not subject to the 2 percent of AGI Limitation.
7.
It is important to keep an accurate diary or similar record of your gambling winnings and losses. To deduct your losses, you must be able to provide receipts, tickets, statements or other records that show the amount of both your winnings and losses.

For more information, refer to IRS Publications 525, Taxable and Nontaxable Income, and 529, Miscellaneous Deductions. Additional information can also be found in IRS Instructions for Forms W-2G and 5754, Certain Gambling Winnings & Statement by Person(s) Receiving Gambling Winnings. These publications are available at IRS.gov or ordered by calling 800-TAX-FORM (800-829-3676).

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

Of course, this doesn't mean people do it! :)

But, by law, you are supposed to report it.

Anonymous said...

Just found your blog wow thats alot of info!!! Great blog but if theres no way of them finding out im not claiming it(lottery winnings).. this country is so whacked with stupid laws about what you should claim and not claim..

Carrie @ Moneysavingmethods.com said...

LOL! You are so funny!

Taxes are ridiculously HARD to decipher! Wish they could make it so much easier!

But, it basically is your decision how you file them.

I can only relay to all my readers the law as it pertains to taxes on Online Offers, etc.

Although,I still recommend everyone call the IRS or their tax professional on their online offers every year. I personally do, just in case anything has changed.

Don't want the IRS coming down on my little blog saying I am giving out inappropriate advice in regards to not filing taxes. :)

Hey, just wanted to let you know that my first Nuitech gift card just came in the mail! I made the mistake of doing a smaller value card the first time ($250), so I didn't actually make much on it, but I got some great Christmas gifts in the process and I learned a lot!

Now I'm in process on a $500 Nuitech offer; gathering paperwork to get manual credit for the FOUR (!!!) offers that didn't approve. Oh well, at least I have the paperwork! :) I'm loving the new 30 day requirement - much cheaper overall costs.

I read in one of your recent comments that you generally only do the $1000 and up Nuitech offers, and now that I've actually worked my way through this process I totally get that. Maybe next time.

Thanks for everything, Carrie! Because of this site we've been able to go on a family vacation and re-decorate part of our house - both things that simply wouldn't have happened without these gift cards.

Emily,

That makes me SOOO happy to hear! It is so thrilling for me to hear from those that have received their gift cards and that they have been so beneficial to their families!

And, I agree, love the new 30 day policy for Nuitech!
