$100 Free Gas from US Bank

Yet another great bank offer? Yep, you bet!

US Bank is currently offering $100 in Free Gas to customers who purchase gas at Exxon/Mobil stations ( those are the United Dairy Farmers stations here in Ohio ) via a new Bonus Check Card linked to their Checking and a new Speedpass key tag.

And, hey, no direct deposits required!

Here are the details:

  • Open a new US Bank Checking account with Bonus Check Card.
  • Sign up for Speedpass and link it to your US Bank Bonus Check card. ( this will have to be done when you receive your Check card in the mail )
  • Spend $50 in gas at Exxon/Mobil Gas Station using your Check Card. $50 Bonus from US Bank will be deposited into your account.
  • Spend $50 in gas at Exxon/Mobil Gas Station with your new Speedpass linked to your Check Card, and a $50 Bonus for US Bank will be deposited into your account.

Easy? Sure is.

But, here are a few other points to take into consideration.

  • Offer ends September 10th! Meaning, you have to receive your Bonus Check Card before then in order to open the Speedpass and link it. I signed up today, so I marked on my calendar to call US Bank next Tuesday if it hasn't arrived to get my card # ( I hope ). -)
  • This is open ONLY to Cincinnati, Milwaukee and St. Louis markets.

Carrie, do you do all these bank offers? If so, does it effect your credit rating? How do you keep up with them?

Evelyn,

I do almost all of them.

Usually, banks only do a soft pull on your credit score when opening a checking which has no effect on credit scores.

The only bank I have seen thus far that did a hard pull was Bank of America.

But, I always advise you to call the institute before you start your application to ensure they only do a soft pull.

And,I stay organized via my online calendar.

I will mark down when I should have my reward by, when I need to do certain things to qualify, etc.

Evelyn,

A speedpass is a little tiny thing that hangs from you keychain.

You scan it quickly at the gas pump and it automatically links back to your US Bank card on file and pays for the gas.
