This might seem similar to a post I did a few weeks back, on great free and cheap movie ideas ( click here to read )....BUT I am reposting because the 2008 Summer Schedules are out! Hooray!
First, AMC Theatres ( Loew's ) has their Summer Camp again this year. But, instead of being free this year, it is $1. BUT, the $1 is going to charity, so I feel this is a great compromise. It will be going to Variety-The Children's Charity and the Will Rogers Institute.
They run from June 25-August 6th. The showings are always at 10 AM on Wednesday morning.
And, here is the schedule:
June 25: Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium
July 2: The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep
July 9: Alvin & The Chipmunks
July 16: Shrek The Third
July 23: Bee Movie
July 30: Surf's Up
August 6: TMNT
July 2: The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep
July 9: Alvin & The Chipmunks
July 16: Shrek The Third
July 23: Bee Movie
July 30: Surf's Up
August 6: TMNT
Cinemark has their kids summer movie schedule out now. You can pay $1 at the box office, OR you can pay $5 upfront that is good for all 10 movies throughout the summer. That would bring it down to 50 cents a show.
It is posted by location. So, click here to go to their site, then find your nearest cinema and click on that link. It will take you to the flier for your specific location with movies, dates and times.
Classic Cinemas has their summer schedule out, too. Click here. They are offering the kids summer moves at $1 a pop, too ( seems to be this year's theme ).
AND...I am so excited for this one....because it is right around the corner from my house!
Rave Movie Theatres are offering free movies this summer starting on June 10, 2008 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 AM. Click here for details.

If and when more of the movie chains begin offering their summer programs for kids, I will post an update. Regal Cinemas site still says to be updated...so we will see what they come up with, right?
And, I am already looking forward to a few afternoons in the air conditioning at the theatre ( and it isn't even hot here, yet )!! Woo, hoo! I love going to the movies...even if it is for a kids movie...and one I have already seen. Nothing beats sitting in front of the big screen!
